Our spacious dining area features a central fireplace, creating a cozy atmosphere for up to 120 guests, a perfect destination for locals and travelers alike, known for its dedication to quality, seasonality, and community.

For years, The George Bar and Dining has been a cornerstone of Bungendore’s culinary scene, recognized as a finalist for Best Restaurant in NSW two years in a row and the proud winner of Best Steak in the NSW region (2024). Our talented Head Chef, Bigyan Bohara, has spent nearly a decade perfecting a menu that balances creativity with timeless flavors. We take pride in working with local producers and winemakers to bring the best of our region to your plate and glass.

MENU

The George Bar & Dining’s menu is a tribute to fresh, locally sourced ingredients, crafted with care and precision. From seasonal specialties to perfectly grilled steaks, every dish is designed to elevate your dining experience.

We partner with Cape Grim produce who supply and farm their own meat. The meat is grass fed and is free from artificial growth hormones & antibiotics. We also use produce from our own farm at Gidleigh.

Craft Beer & Cider

The George Bar & Dining is proud to offer an extensive range of craft beer & cider, to enhance our already extensive offer of mainstream beers and lager.

We showcase craft beers on our guest taps within the restaurant. We also stock a very large and diverse selection of bottled beers, ales, stouts, lagers and ciders in our fridges.

The George Bar & Dining showcases and highlights our ever changing and wide range of beers through our dedicated beer menu which is regularly updated and changed.

Wine

The George Bar and Dining offers a fantastic selection of local and award-winning wines from the Canberra District, hand-picked by our restaurant manager.

Canberra District is world-famous for cool climate wines, with varying vineyard altitudes, temperature variations, and diverse soil types contributing to the unique characteristics of each bottle. Our region’s skilled winemakers bring passion and expertise to every vintage, offering a wide range of varietals to suit every palate

These include Riesling, Chardonnay, Sauvignon blanc, Sémillon, Cabernet Sauvignon,  Shiraz, Viognier, Tempranillo, Pinot Noir,  Pinot Gris and Sangiovese.

The region is home to some 140 vineyards. With over 30 wineries within 45 minutes’ drive of the George Bar & Dining.

Winemaking started 160 years ago in the Canberra region. Today or wineries boast a range of awards and international accolades for wine quality and winemaker’s talents.

Canberra region wines have qualities derived from a unique Australian climate and environment and a range of soils across the local region.

Working with our wine partners we are continually updating and sourcing new wines for our guests and customers.
